Old grazing paths are found again, and prey intake is almost back to normal, despite the circumstances. Nothing is green yet, but for once the sun is flashing it's rays down onto frostbitten faces, grins shared by everyone. Something's starting to look up.. Temperature: 9°C, 48°F.

chapter 9 - the armistice
Latvia is a land far beyond the dreams of the simple-minded; the equines that roam here battle daily with their own wickedness, compassion, and emotions while standing on the throes of war and peace trying to build a life that will last through the ages.

"what has happened here?"
Historians have documented throughout time the rise and fall of nations, each with its own unique standpoint on things or even their own customs. So immersed they were with large empires, all with blood-feuds and avarice, that they missed many of the greater, younger countries that bloomed and fell rapidly. Such is the story of the land of Latvia; bedridden by age-old hatreds that date back to unknown ancestors, love that had become forbidden, and all out wars.

We studied about Latvia in World History. It was a country created after WWI from some of Russia's land. ...
